「EP21·Academic Exchange Visit」 — Prof. Shiqi Ou from South China University of Technology Elaborates on Transportation Energy System Transition

On March 21, 2025, Dr. Shiqi Ou, a professor at the School of Future Technology of South China University of Technology and a National-level Overseas Talent (Youth), visited the Ministry of Education’s Laboratory for Philosophy and Social Sciences in Low-carbon Governance and Policy Intelligence at Beihang University. He engaged in discussions with scholars on topics including transportation energy transition and policy evaluation.

At the university’s Low-Carbon Economy Forum series, Prof. Ou delivered an academic report titled “Forecasting Transportation Energy Technology Transitions and the Impact of Policy Implementation Effects.” He detailed his team’s recent research progress in transportation energy modeling and forecasting for the U.S. and China, emphasizing methodologies that bridge micro-level behavioral decision-making to macro-level policy impacts. Key highlights included the potential effects of different designs for the “dual-credit policy” and the application prospects of AI algorithms and generative large-scale models in energy forecasting and analysis. The report, rich in content and academic rigor, sparked active interactions and lively discussions among faculty and students.

Following the seminar, Prof. OU further exchanged ideas with core members of the laboratory, including Associate Professor Fan Tong and Associate Professor Chunan Wang, on advancing research in transportation energy transition.
