On March 14, 2025, the TRANS Research Team from South China University of Technology (SCUT) and GAC Research and Development Center (GAC R&D Center) jointly initiated a project to advance artificial intelligence (AI) applications in automotive R&D. Representatives from GAC R&D Center, Dasheng Technology, and SCUT attended the kickoff meeting to define project objectives, establish collaboration mechanisms, and deepen industry-academia-research integration.

The project focuses on accelerating automotive intelligence transformation by building an integrated data platform. This platform aims to streamline data cleaning, enable precise scenario simulations, enhance fault prediction capabilities, improve powertrain system diagnostics, and optimize transmission design efficiency, thereby providing core tools for smart connected vehicle development. At the meeting, Lin Chengbo from GAC R&D Center and Professor Ou Shiqi from the TRANS team elaborated on the project’s background and implementation plan. Key stakeholders, including SCUT Vice Dean Shu Lin, GAC Chief Engineer Zeng Wenbo, Section Chief Cai Kaicheng, and Dasheng Technology Deputy Director Liu Liang, delivered closing remarks, emphasizing the critical role of cross-sector collaboration in overcoming technical challenges.

Scheduled for completion by March 2026, the project will undergo phases of system development, testing, and operational deployment. The TRANS team will lead data modeling and algorithm development to address technical bottlenecks, driving the digital transformation of automotive R&D. This collaboration stands as a model of industry-academia synergy, injecting fresh momentum into the automotive industry’s intelligent evolution.
