The TRANS Lab recently organized a series of artificial intelligence outreach activities for young students at South China University of Technology (SCUT)’s affiliated kindergarten and elementary school in Guangzhou International Campus. Led by Professor Shiqi (Shawn) Ou, the activity team included PhD students – Hao Qi, Zhifeng Yang, and Jintao Lian, as well as undergraduates – Zijing Zhou, Haoyu Wang, and Siying Wang.
Through engaging presentations and interactive demonstrations—including smart driverless vehicles, transportation-energy systems, and AI-generated virtual characters—the team introduced the young audience to key concepts in autonomous driving and large AI models. The activities were designed to spark curiosity and build early awareness of cutting-edge technologies in a fun and accessible way.
