Conference Preface

To further enhance university faculty members’ and students’ understanding of international academic publishing processes, standards for English scientific paper writing, and techniques for responding to reviewers’ comments, as well as to promote the high-quality dissemination of research outcomes, the TRANS Research Group of the Future Technology Institute at South China University of Technology will hold an academic publishing exchange seminar. The seminar will take place from 14:30 to 17:00 on May 14, 2026, in Conference Room B1-c101, Guangzhou International Campus, South China University of Technology.

This seminar will focus on topics such as English scientific paper writing, artificial intelligence and academic publishing, academic article processing procedures, and responses to reviewers’ comments. Publishing staff from MDPI and editorial representatives from relevant journals will be invited to deliver thematic presentations. The seminar will address practical issues commonly encountered by researchers during manuscript submission, peer review, revision, publication, and dissemination, providing participating faculty members and students with targeted guidance on academic article writing, submission, publication, and publishing-related matters.

Professor Shiqi Shawn Ou

Biography: Shiqi Ou, also known as Shawn Ou, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Future Technology Institute, South China University of Technology. His research mainly focuses on the application and innovation of artificial intelligence in transportation energy. He is the principal investigator of the Transportation Research & AI-driven New-energy Sustainability Laboratory, also known as TRANS-Lab.

Qi Yan, Publisher of Future Transportation

Biography: Qi Yan received her master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from Huazhong Agricultural University. She has previously served as Assistant Editor and Managing Editor for several journals and currently serves as Publisher of Future Transportation. Her main responsibilities include supporting the healthy and sustainable development of the journal, promoting communication and collaboration between the journal and external academic editors, and providing high-quality publishing services for scholars.

Yi Zhong, Publishing Specialist, MDPI

Biography: Yi Zhong graduated from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at Wuhan University with a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics. Her main responsibilities include supporting the healthy and sustainable development of journals, promoting communication and collaboration between journals and external academic editors, and providing high-quality publishing services for scholars.

Huifang Guo, Managing Editor of Future Transportation

Biography: Huifang Guo received her master’s degree in Mineral Prospecting and Exploration from China University of Geosciences, Wuhan. She joined MDPI in 2018 and previously served as Managing Editor of Journal of Intelligence and Membranes. She currently serves as Managing Editor of Future Transportation, where she is mainly responsible for article processing, quality control, and maintaining the healthy and sustainable development of the journal.

Siqi Deng, Publishing Specialist, MDPI

Biography: Siqi Deng received her Ph.D. in Architectural Design and Theory from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
