On the afternoon of December 13, 2024, Professor Shiqi Ou and doctoral students Hao Jing and Hao Qi from the TRANSLAB visited the National Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The National Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems is based at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which was reorganized from the State Key Laboratory of Pattern Recognition and the State Key Laboratory of Management and Control of Complex Systems. As one of the first 20 benchmark national key laboratories, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the laboratory for construction in 2022. It is dedicated to promoting innovative applications of multimodal artificial intelligence technology in fields such as transportation and energy, and providing technical support for upgrading China’s intelligent transportation systems and green, low-carbon development.
This exchange focused on the rapid development of intelligent transportation technology, with a particular emphasis on discussing key issues and potential research directions related to the integration of transportation and energy with Deputy Researcher Peijun Ye. The discussions covered topics such as optimizing traffic energy in intelligent transportation systems, the implementation path of coupling intelligent vehicle networking with intelligent power system management, and how to use artificial intelligence technology to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Both parties agreed that research on the integration of intelligent transportation and energy holds tremendous development potential and is expected to become a significant driving force in achieving the country’s dual-carbon goals.
