On October 30, 2025, the TRANS Research Group invited Dr. Zheng Zhu, a Hundred Talents Program Investigator and PhD Supervisor from Zhejiang University, to deliver an academic lecture titled “Current Research Applications, Prospects, Challenges, and Coping Strategies of LLM Technologies such as DeepSeek in the Transportation Field.” From a popular science perspective, the report introduced the evolutionary history of artificial intelligence, the core concepts and working principles of large language models (LLMs) like DeepSeek, as well as their current application status, development trends, and challenges within transportation research and the industry.
